New Ground for Bishop Auckland FC

Given the go-ahead by Wear Valley councillors

A development in Tindale Crescent which would include leisure and retail outlets, as well as a new ground for Bishop Auckland FC, has been given the go-ahead by Wear Valley councillors.

The site will also include a bowling alley and Sainsbury’s supermarket. Bishop Auckland FC’s chairman, Terry Jackson, described the unanimous decision as being “exactly what the town needs and wants”. The plans for the scheme with “an unbeatable mix of retail and leisure”, which Mr Jackson says would see additional money spent in the town, will now go to the Government Office.
