Durham County Council launch Energy price comparison service

There are many competitive energy schemes to supply gas and electricity and it is always best to check if you are receiving the most competitive deal from your energy supplier especially over the winter months where many households are using more fuel for heating.

To help with this process Durham County Council’s Warm Homes Campaign has launched a new web page to assist residents to contact Consumer Focus for a free, impartial and comprehensive price comparison for all suppliers in the area.

Visit Durham County Council’s Warm Homes Campaign page and check out “How to reduce your energy bill” to access this advice from Consumer Focus.

Please also remember that most Energy Suppliers also offer their most vulnerable customers cheaper energy tariffs.

Warm Homes Campaign – social tariffs

All energy suppliers have to offer their most vulnerable customers cheaper energy tariffs. These are called social tariffs and offer cheaper energy deals and extra free services to certain customers. You may qualify for a social tariff if you are over 60, on means tested benefits or are on a low income.
