A palliative home care team is available to help in patients own homes that provide a professional sitting service available day or night 365 days a year. Butterwick Hospice also provides a mobile aromatherapy service for Multiple Sclerosis patients.

The Hospice has particular expertise in controlling the effects of life threatening illnesses such as pain or other stressful symptoms. Services are provided to the patient and their families/carers and include complementary therapies, family support, counselling and bereavement care.

All services are provided completely free of charge to ensure that Hospice care is available to everyone. Butterwick Hospice maintains high standards of patient care and fundraising is a vital and essential element of ensuring the Hospice is always there to serve the local community.

Fundraiser Julie Nisbet said “It a great event that is fun and you get a chance to see the beautiful sights of Bishop Auckland at the same time as raising money for a good cause”.

To take part in the walk costs £12.50 and is a ladies only event.  For more information or to enrol for the walk contact the fundraising department on 01388 603003.
