Bishop FM is committed to broadcasting music and speech programmes. Music output includes popular songs from the 1950’s to current chart music during the day, as well as music from other genres in the evening and weekend. These genres of ‘specialist’ music include rock, punk, folk, country, jazz and big band, as well as dance and R’n’B.
Local news, events, information and music is important to the station, and many news and current affairs stories are covered in our daytime weekday programmes. National and international news stories are included in headlines from the Sky News Centre every hour.
You can contact the station with local issues, news, music and events at any time.
All programming is produced in South Durham.
There are more than 200 licensed community radio stations in the UK. All community radio stations rely on volunteers to manage the station and produce programmes. The station is always looking for new volunteers to take on a number of responsibilities.
To ensure that experiences are rewarding and satisfying for volunteers and the station as a whole, we insist that all members, regardless of experience, complete a training programme and volunteer at the station before presenting a programme.
We offer a range of advertising packages which are suitable for organisations, sole traders and small and medium sized companies. Find out more about advertising on radio in South Durham and speak to one of our sales team.
