The whole idea of a community radio station is that it is run by the community for the community which means there are variety of ways you can get involved. We're looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of running a radio station. Whether it's being a broadcast assistant and helping the on-air presenter, finding and reporting local news or helping with the website, we look forward to hearing from you. We are currently looking for:

Previous experience of radio will prove useful but is by no means necessary and you will be able to help out both in front and behind the microphone.

Bishop FM is a community radio station based in South West Durham. With studios in Shildon and Bishop Auckland, Bishop FM currently broadcasts a selection of programmes online, from Folk music to in-depth local sport coverage, and you can be a part of it!

Bishop FM is building up to a full-time launch on FM, having been awarded a five year community radio license by media regulator Ofcom.
