Past and Future Tours

Thursday, 14th December, 2017 at 2:30PM

At 42 Market Place

Volunteers from Auckland Castle Trust will be hosting a number of past, present and future tours, outlining the history of some of the town’s most beautiful buildings and an insight into how many are now being transformed as part of the Trust’s multi-million pound revitalisation scheme. This includes the former Old Bank Chambers, soon to re-open as a mining art gallery, the old Backhouse Bank and Barrington School buildings, which are being combined to create a Spanish art gallery launching in 2019 and Number 10 Market Place, which will house the Zurbarán Research Centre for Spanish and Latin American Art and Culture, created in partnership with Durham University. The FREE guided tours take place every Thursday starting at 12.30pm, Friday’s at 2pm and Saturday mornings at 11am. Meet at No42 Market Place. Booking is not required, just turn up!
