Bishop FM is a community radio station set up in Bishop Auckland to meet the needs of residents of South West Durham. Run entirely by volunteers, the station will launch in 2008 on FM with a five year community radio license.

Our schedule is presently being re-organised. Shortly we will be bringing you a new, exciting and interesting range of programmes varying from local community interest and news, through specialist music programmes to the latest releases. Community Radio for all age groups in S.W. Durham.

9pm to 11pm, Monday

I will be presenting Folk with Ferdinand every Monday evening at 9 to 11pm. I can promise you an eclectic mix of music new and old, local and international. Infact folk Music to suit every taste.

Metal Gods Rock Show with Dave Chipchase

7pm to 9pm, Tuesday

Two hours of dedicated "Rock & Metal" spanning four decades.

Tuesday Rock Show

9pm to 11pm, Tuesday

Paul Manuel presents the Tuesday Rock Show from 9pm to 11pm where you will hear classic rock along some new bands and hopefully in the future some local talent.

The Four Stooges

8pm to 10pm, Wednesday

Paul, Terry, Rebecca and guests bring music and news to Wednesday evening.

Darkus by Sir D

7pm to 9pm, Thursday

An addictive cocktail of music, reviews, interviews and randomness, Sir D style.

The Unimaginatively Titled Radio Show with Dave Wallbanks

9pm to 11pm, Thursday

An hour of new music, local bands, great tunes and more.

Saturday Lunch Hour

12pm to 2pm, Saturday

James brings the latest national and local news stories to your weekend, plus the perfect mix of music for a Saturday afternoon. Includes weather, travel news and "Around the World in Eighty Songs", the music feature which doesn't deliver on anything it promises.

Saturday Sport

2pm to 6pm, Saturday

Bishop FM's sports team will bring all the news from the Saturday afternoon local sport scene - and the Saturday afternoon sound as well.

Anita's World

4pm to 6pm, Sunday

As a committed Weardalian, editor of the Weardale Gazette, my main interest is bringing the news and views of Weardale with guests from the Dale and cheesey tunes from the 50s-70s.

Jazz and Roots, with Tom and Ian

6pm to 8pm, Sunday

Tom and Ian present the best in Jazz and Roots music. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon, on Bishop FM.

Another Music in a Different Kitchen

8pm to 9pm, Sunday

Another music in a different kitchen is sixty minutes of alternative sounds from the 70's and 80's. Think punk, funk, goth, industrial, electro... whatever... it's here every Sunday at 8pm. Presented by Trevor Johnson.

Rebecca's Rock Show

9pm to 10pm, Sunday

I was born in Crook and have lived there all of my 24 years. I love rock music and in my spare time I go to see live bands. I'll be playing a range of rock music from all eras from 9pm to 10pm every Sunday night. I'll also be chatting about any bands playing locally and keeping you informed of what gigs are coming up in this area.
