New Writing Conference

Saturday, 6th June, 2015 - 10:00am

Northumbria University

Newcastle Writing Conference is organised by New Writing North and partners Northumbria University to provide professional development and networking opportunities for working writers in the North of England.
The programme includes a raft of authors and publishing industry experts, including Carnegie Medal-winner Meg Rosoff, editor Francesca Main, literary agents Jo Unwin and Mark Stanton, blogger Savidge Reads, vlogger Books and Quills, publicists, social media professionals, self-publishing and crowd funding experts, and many more.

The ‘Do it Yourself’ ethos of the conference will show how to navigate the new rules of publishing. From using digital platforms to engage with readers, to exploring non-traditional publishing routes, to identifying what today’s editors look for, this conference is all about what writers can do for themselves.

Aimed at new and emerging writers of fiction, as well as more established writers wanting to embrace the digital age, the conference will explore trends in publishing, identify new markets for writing, and support authors to make connections with each other and with industry insiders.
