Tony Young will give an illustrated presentation on The Battle of Stanhope 1818 – or “The Bonny Moorhen”. The story of the famous fight and rescue of poachers from police custody was written down by William Morley Egglestone 60 years later and recently dramatised by Jack Drum Arts. Tony will compare the Egglestone account written from oral memories with contemporary records. Meet in the RAFA Spitfire Club Crook. Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start. Admission non members £3.
