Auckland Castle Classic Car Show

Sunday, 23rd August, 2015 - 10:00am

Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland

Classic Cars From the Last 100 Years will see an array of vintage vehicles from yesteryear on display set against the picturesque backdrop of the medieval castle and its grounds. Visitors will be able to take a step back in time with everything from a sporty 1979 Lotus Esprit S2 similar to the white S1 version used in the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me, to a 1966 Mercedes 250SE that was once owned by the head of Express Newspapers and the Cunard Steam Ship Company, Lord Victor Matthews, set to be on display. Among other cars from the bygone era of motoring that will be making the journey to Auckland Castle will be a stylish 1963 Jaguar Mark Two Saloon as beloved by Inspector Morse, 1924 Morris Cowley, 1948 Bentley, Armstrong Hurricane, jaunty 1983 Panther Kallista, Pontiac Trans AM, diminutive 1937 Austin Seven Ruby, and a Ford Capri 280.
