The Bowes Museum, Newgate, Barnard Castle, Co Durham. DL12 8NP

Join Assistant Curator of Fine Art, Bernadette Petti to learn more about the Museum’s collection of Spanish paintings, one of the largest public collections in the UK. This month’s talk focuses on St Agabus, by Juan Bautista Maino. According to the tradition, the saint built a chapel on Mount Carmel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Maino employs a naturalistic manner, depicting the saint as if he were a portrait sitter.
Entrance to this talk is included in the General Admission Charge.
