Ferryhill’s annual Christmas Fayre

Ferryhill 2000 Committee & Ferryhill Town Council would like to invite residents to attend Ferryhill’s annual Christmas Fayre on Friday 30th November 2012.
The Fayre, which is organised by Ferryhill 2000 Committee in partnership with Ferryhill Town Council will commence at 2pm with Children’s fair rides, refreshments, Craft Fayre which this year will once again take place indoors at St. Luke’s Parish Centre.

A candle-lit procession involving children from the local Primary Schools will leave St. Luke’s Church at 4pm. The procession which will be led by Santa’s Sleigh will make its way to the Town Hall gardens where carol singing will take place at 4.15pm. The official switching on of the town’s Christmas lights will then follow at 4.30pm. The honour of switching on the lights this year will fall to Aidan Forster a pupil from Broom Cottages Primary School. Any adults and children wishing to take part in the procession are asked to meet at St. Luke’s Church at 3.30pm where glow sticks will be issued free of charge to anyone taking part in the procession.

Santa has also promised to make an appearance again this year and will be visiting the E-Café from 4.30pm-7pm to meet local children and give out presents in a specially designed grotto. Tea & coffee will also be on sale in the E-Café as well as the chance to test your luck on the tombola. Later in the evening the activities will move to the Manor House where a performance by the Ferryhill Town Band will be taking place from 7pm where residents will also be able to enjoy a festive glass of mulled wine.

2.00pm – 6pm – Show Rides on Chapel Terrace

2.00pm – 6pm – Craft Fayre at St. Luke’s Parish Centre

3.30pm – Children from local Primary Schools congregate in
St. Luke’s Church for Candlelit Procession.
Glow sticks will be issued free

4.00pm – Candlelit Procession leaves St. Luke’s Church led
by Santa’s Sleigh.

4.15pm – Carol Singing in the Town Hall Gardens

4.30pm – Official switch on of the Town’s Christmas
Lights and speech by the Mayor of Ferryhill

4.30pm – 7.pm – Santa’s Grotto in the E Café

7.00 – 8.00pm – Event moves to the Manor House gardens for
Music by the Ferryhill Town Band

8.00pm – Event Closes
