BioBlitz at Low Barns (Free Event)

Low Barns Nature Reserve, Witton-le-Wear

Come along to Low Barns Nature Reserve and take part in the first ever Low Barns BioBlitz. Join scientists, naturalists and volunteers and help identify and record as many species as possible.
A BioBlitz is an intense period of biological surveying in an attempt to record all the living species within a designated area.

Experts will be at hand to help with identification and to lead activities.

Activities Include:

10:00am – Moth Identification
10:30am – Wildflower Survey Walk
11:00am – Butterfly & Bee Survey
11:30am – Small Mammal Walk
13:00pm – Dragonfly & Damselfly Walk
13:30pm – Children’s Pond dipping
14:00pm – Tree ID walk
15:00pm – Freshwater Ecology
17:00pm – Bird Walk
17:30pm – Children’s Pond Dipping
21:00pm – Bat walk & Amphibian Torch Survey (TBC)
