The penultimate concert in Bishop Auckland Music Society’s 2016 series features the Acacia Duo – Samantha Pearce on flute and Heather Wrighton on harp.
Samantha and Heather have delighted audiences with their dexterity and talent. They met while studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, had an instant rapport, and formed the Acacia Duo. The couple have recently been appointed as artists for the charity ‘Live Music Now’ which brings performances to people who rarely have the opportunity to experience live music. This involves working in hospitals and care homes and with children with special needs.
Both busy freelance musicians, the Acacia Duo enjoy working in this small chamber combination for its beautiful and romantic sound and for the variety of possibilities for intimate to large performances.
For this Auckland Castle concert they will perform music ranging from Bach to Mozart, from Donizetti to Faure.
