Streatlam Castle: Rediscover the Home of John and Josephine Bowes

Saturday, 25th November, 2017 - 10:00am

The Bowes Museum, Newgate, Barnard Castle, Co Durham. DL12 8NP

In March 1959, the last remains of Streatlam Castle were blown up, destroying all traces of the stately home owned by the Bowes’ family for over 500 years. As part of The Bowes Museum’s 125th anniversary, this exhibition will recreate a detailed picture of the Castle and its contents as they would have been during John Bowes’ lifetime.
