Beyond the End of the Road
Northern Heartlands, the Durham Great Place Scheme, has teamed with north-east theatre company November Club to bring the award-winning musical ‘Beyond the End of the Road’ to 6 venues across rural Durham from 14-27 July, following a sell-out tour in Northumberland last year.
Written by Laura Lindow, the show interweaves the heart-warming stories of the residents of a fictional village called PLACE. Music and lyrics are by popular folk musician Katie Doherty and the show features a professional cast of 10 actors and musicians.
‘There is a strange sound coming from the soil. Incomer Sula just cannot let it lie. Her sister Evie can’t seem to get anything right. Alec and Grace are arguing over the sudden arrival of Uncle Bobby and what IS Thomas hiding down at the old station?
Our storytelling rabble weave their midsummer tale about the residents of their village P L A C E, their loves, their losses and their deepest secrets.
Warning: there may be tears, there WILL be dancingâ€
Ticket sales for the County Durham tour are going well; the opening show in Binchester has already sold out and other performances in Evenwood, Stanhope, Crook and Mickleton are selling fast. The final show at The Witham in Barnard Castle will conclude with a lively ceilidh and feature popular youth band Cream Tees who will entertain the audience.
