The Weardale (Chapel) Show takes place on Saturday August the 31st this year and we have an exciting programme of events for the day, including an official visit from our Lord Lieutenant, Sue Snowdon. There are two new marquees - Try Your Hand at a craft and a Victorian Tea Tent funded and organised by the WAAP in recognition of the Victorian origins of the show. “There is also the tantalising prospect of a possible flypast” says Joan Warriner, the Show Secretary.
“The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight can provide a flypast by one of its aircraft whilst en route between displays so an organisation can request one, it's then planned in, but not guaranteed. Under this system the Weardale Show has asked for a flypast by the Douglas C-47 Dakota which could take place at any time during the day, subject to aircraft routes, weather and operational factors such as Air Traffic Control restrictions. We were successful in 2010 so why not again! This will add to the excitement of our 150th Anniversary celebrations and all the usual fun and we hope that you'll come along to share it all with us, for full details see our website www.weardale-show.co Tickets £6 for adults, £3 children 5-14.
