Bishop Auckland choir looks to expand with open evening

A local choir seeking to expand its numbers in its tenth anniversary year.

The Andreas Ensemble was formed in 2005 in Bishop Auckland and is holding an open evening at St. Andrew’s on Tuesday, 3rd March at 7.30pm.

Singers from all over County Durham are part of the choir which includes members from churches of all denominations, as well as individuals who are not currently associated with any particular religious organisation.

The choir was founded in 2005 in Bishop Auckland and sets itself high standards of choral singing, as well as offering the opportunity to rise to the challenge of performing cathedral-style music.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 7.30pm to 9pm in St. Andrew’s, South Church.

Brian Varley, who directs the Andreas Ensemble, said, “Why not come to the Open Night, or give me a ring, or email or come along to one of our weekly rehearsals and see how you like what we do. You could also Google our website for more background and to listen to our recordings”.
