Get involved with your local community radio station

Bishop FM is a non-profit organisation based in Bishop Auckland. There are many ways you can get involved.

Tell us about your organisation or business, submit your events, join us on air, volunteer with Bishop FM and more.

Send us your news, updates and press releases. We broadcast local news bulletins every weekday and post articles to our website and social media.

Tell us about your sports club or organisation. We’ve broadcast from some of our local clubs and are always looking to hear from more teams.

We love to hear about what’s going on in South Durham. Since we started our What’s On Guide we have mentioned over 3,000 local events.

Volunteering with Bishop FM

We are always looking for volunteers to join the station.

Whether you are interested in presenting and producing programmes, helping behind the scenes with technical roles or managing a website and social media please get in touch.

Everyone at Bishop FM is a volunteer. We all share a passion for our local area and the programmes we broadcast.

Join us on air

An important role for Bishop FM is to help local groups and organisations get a message across to listeners in South Durham.

We’ve been joined by Citizens Advice, Bishop Auckland Neighbourhood Police, Bishop Auckland Town Team and other groups who have taken part in programmes on the station.

Contact us to find out more about appearing on Bishop FM.

Myself, the dedicated volunteers and of course all of the stray and abandoned dogs at the Rescue Centre would like to say a huge THANK YOU for allowing us to share our stories with you and your listeners as well as allowing us to promote our fundraising events during our monthly update including ‘Dog of the Month’!
