On 6 February 2018, the football world, and particularly Manchester United Football Club and its many supporters, were mourning the 60th anniversary of one of the game’s greatest tragedies, the Munich Air Disaster.
The play tells the almost-forgotten story of how a non-league football club up in the North East, Bishop Auckland, had been the main club to offer significant support to Manchester United.
The play was performed in front of a live audience at Heritage Park on Thursday 6th February – the anniversary of the Munich Air Disaster.
The play was written by Roy Cavanagh MBE and Steve Newcomb.
Sponsored by Kenley Homes and Bishop Auckland Town Council.
