Durham bus ticket launched with unlimited travel for £4

New daily tickets have been launched which allow unlimited bus travel in County Durham for £4.

The Durham Day Rover is one of several products available to bus users in the North East. The new ticket is valid for unlimited travel for the day of purchase on eligible local bus services. The ticket is only valid in the Durham County Council area.

Additional tickets have been created for unlimited bus travel in Northumberland as well as a new day ticket covering unlimited bus, Metro and Ferry travel in Tyne and Wear for £6.

The tickets are available alongside the existing £2 single journey fare for adults.

Transport North East says a range of improvements to buses have already been launched in the region, including a £1 fare for people aged 21 and under, using North East Bus Improvement Plan funding.

A new Bus Passenger Charter has also been created. This includes commitments around information and timetables, safety and taking action when things go wrong.
