Butterwick Hospice is welcoming supporters old and new to bring their four-legged friends along to Hamsterley Forest and ‘put their best paw forward’ in support of the charity.
Hamsterley Forest is to host a dog walk along a specially devised route on Sunday 8th September.
Secondary registration for the inaugural walk begins at 10am, from which time participants are invited to get their “woofie goodie bag” and to enjoy a variety of activities, advice and stalls laid on especially for the event. The walk itself begins at 11am, and will cover a 3 mile ramble through the idyllic forest.
Upon completion of the walk each dog will receive their own memento “dog tag”, which can be attached to their collar as a lasting memory of the special day.
The day will also include show case activities and displays from local dog training company ‘Have a Good Dog’, who will be on hand to provide behaviour consultations and advise people on effective training methods.
Entry to the walk is just £5, but Butterwick do ask that all participants try to raise as much money as possible by asking family, friends and colleagues to give one pound for completing the route. Alternatively, participants may wish to set up a ‘just giving’ webpage to help raise essential funding for Butterwick.
Entrants must register in advance, to sign up please apply for a registration form by telephoning Butterwick Hospice on (01388) 660644 or e-mail clairmcgregor@butterwick.org.uk. Alternatively, a registration form can be downloaded here.
